Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical practice in which plant based herbs and spices are used as medicine to cure any ailment of the body, mind and soul. It has been tracked back to around 3000 BCE during the time of the Indus Valley Civilization.
In this tea I used three basic herbs, fennel seeds, coriander seeds and dried rose petals.
Fennel tea is a mild diuretic and can help flush excess water and toxins out of the body. It is also a strong antioxidant and helps fight against free radical cellular damage inside the body.
Coriander seeds contain natural compounds that help to detoxify the body and remove all the traces of the heavy, toxic metals which is important for the body in the present pollution filled atmosphere. It also helps clear the skin and get rid of acne and blemishes.
Rose gives this tea that sweet and gentle taste. The petals contain Vitamin C that help fight the signs of aging and keep the number of cancer creating and cell damaging free radicals in check. It also promotes fat loss.
I have tried teas like ‘tiny tea’ which promise to promote weight loss, when the truth is that you can create your own teas at home with fraction of the cost.
This tea tastes delicious and can be had throughout the day. I had this tea for one week straight (2 cups everyday) and lost all of my excess water weight and had visibly clearer skin, I’m never getting ‘tiny tea’ ever again!

An Ancient Ayurveda recipe of three herbs, fennel seeds, coriander seeds and dried rose petals that detox the mind, body and soul.

- 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 tsp Rose Petals, dried
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Seeds
- 2 Cups Water
- Bring water to a high temperature, around 95 degrees. Do not boil.
- Put all the ingredients in the pot and cover with lid for around 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and enjoy your hot cup of detox tea!
